New: Race Recon reads your race course into your training

A race entry tells you the distance and the total climbing. Race Recon reads the course itself, so your training and your race day are planned around where the climbs actually are.
Turn it on: add or edit a race in Calendar or Training Plan, then attach a GPX or FIT file or import a route you have ridden on Intervals.icu. Race Recon is on Pro and Max.

What you get

  • The elevation profile and every sustained climb, with its length, height gain and gradient
  • How long each climb takes you, estimated at your own threshold, so your interval sessions lean towards the lengths your course demands
  • On race day, the course split into climbs, descents and flats, each with a power or pace target and a carbohydrate and fluid budget
  • Share the race to the community catalog and, once it is approved, the course goes with it for the next athlete preparing for the same start line

The full story, worked through on a real 151 km route, is on the blog: Race Recon: your race course, read into your training
